A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 7, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1195 Kuhn Road, Carol Stream. Interment will be in El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, Calif. Following interment, a graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14.
Mrs. Witte and her family previously owned and published several newspapers in Mauston, Elroy and Kendall, Wis. She worked typing and editing articles and letters, as well as managing the Elroy and Kendall papers. After selling the newspapers, she and her family continued to publish a newsletter in Mauston. Mrs. Witte founded the Mauston Women’s Club and led a fundraising campaign to buy a motorized wheelchair for Mary Podrasky, a newspaper correspondent.
Survivors include her son, Oliver (Priscilla) Witte Jr.; and three grandchildren, Rachel, Paul and Eric. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Witte; and two sisters.
