Jefferson City News-Tribune (MO) - Thursday, July 10, 2008:

Mrs. Catherine Ruth Adrian, age 93 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at St. Mary's Health Center. Ruth was born July 13, 1914, in Fulton, Mo., the daughter of Harry B. and Mary Ann Rankin Cady, both deceased. She was married on January 22, 1943, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Adolph G. Adrian, who preceded her in death on October 2, 2005.

A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Ruth graduated from Jefferson City High School and attended the Jefferson City Junior College. A homemaker, she had been employed as a store manager with Kroger's Food Store in St. Louis during World War II. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where she was a Monday Morning Collector for many years. She was also the founding member of the Helias High School Mother's Club.

Survivors include: three sons, Glen G. Adrian and his wife Sue of Leawood, Kansas, Joe B. Adrian and his wife Tina of Springdale, Arkansas, and Ron P. Adrian and his wife Marie of Leawood, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Matthew Adrian and his wife Claire, Marc Adrian and his wife Angela, Meghan Nichols and her husband Jeff, Monica Wehner and her husband Kyle, Mike Adrian and his wife Kara, Joe Adrian II, Marty Stewart and her husband Josh, Jonathan Adrian, and Amanda Adrian; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Andrew Adrian; four brothers, Lyle Cady, Whalen Cady, Burl Cady, and Glen Cady; and three sisters, Irene Kiso, Bernice Fletcher, and Carol Cady.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Church. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4-7 p.m. Friday with a prayer service to be conducted at 7 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Helias High School Mother's Club. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary. www.freemanmortuary.com
