Mrs. Missouri J. Stanford
Funeral services for Mrs. Missouri J. Stanford, 73, of 3317 N. Pecan, who died Tuesday in a hospital, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Shannon Chapel. Burial will be in Laurel Land.
Mrs. Stanford, a native of Arkansas and a resident here almost 40 years, suffered a stroke Saturday and never regained consciousness. She attended the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors are her husband, L. G. Stanford; one son, E. J. Stanford; four daughters, Mmes. E. C. Rucker, J. F. Kidwill and Bonnilyn Millard of Fort Worth and O. L. Davenport of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Teel of Roby; two brothers, Bert Driver of Fort Worth and Ab Driver of Roby; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Obituary and Death Certificate says (in 1955) she was born in August 1881. My great grandfather, Leland Gilbert Stanford, ordered their grave marker in 1958. I’ve seen the receipt. It states her birth year was 1883.
Her brother Allen F Driver was born on 2/10/1881 making it impossible for Missouri Jane to be born on 8/23/1881. That’s six months apart.
Her next sister, Mary E Stanford Baucum’s death certificate states she was born 29/1884. Again, if Missouri was born in 1883, that is only six months! So, what year was she (Jennie) born in Arkansas?
Best guess, it was written in a Bible, her birthdate.
