Jeanerette- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Gerard Joseph LeBlanc, age 47, on Saturday November 29, 2014 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux to serve as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Friday November 28, 2014 at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette beginning at 12:00pm and conclude at 10:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 5:00pm. Visitation will continue the following morning at 8:00am until service time.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of St. Martinville, "Skipper" as he was affectionately known, passed away on Sunday November 23, 2014 at 12:23pm at a local hospital. Skipper worked as a Mechanic for most of his life, it was his passion. He enjoyed working on his pride and joy, his 1986 Ford Mustang. Skipper enjoyed socializing with his family and friends and was always the life of the party. He always made sure everyone was smiling, laughing, and happy.

His survivors include his three sons, Travis James Migues of New Iberia, Richard "Ricky" Joseph LeBlanc of Dayton, TX, Austin Reed LeBlanc and companion Madison Thompson of Dayton, TX; grandson, Travis Michael Migues of New Iberia; brothers, Louis LeBlanc Jr. and wife Helen of Jeanerette; Jerome LeBlanc Sr. and wife Christine of Jeanerette, Anthony LeBlanc Sr. of Jeanerette; sisters, Mona Landry and husband Dwayne of Jeanerette, Deborah LeBlanc of Youngsville, Penny LeBlanc of Lydia, Angela Berthelot of New Iberia, Monica LaJaunie and husband Anthony of New Iberia, Nicole Rebert and husband Moses of Coteau; godsons, Billy and Zachary LeBlanc both of New Iberia; and goddaughters, Chelsy Lynn and Sarah Hodge both of Dayton, TX and his former wife Gina Messer of Hull, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Melvin LeBlanc Sr. and Mary Jean Savoie LeBlanc; and one nephew, Matthew LeBlanc.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Travis Migues, Richard LeBlanc, Austin LeBlanc, Louis LeBlanc Jr., Jerome LeBlanc Sr., Anthony LeBlanc Sr., and Billy LeBlanc.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony LeBlanc Jr., Jerome LeBlanc Jr., Nicholas Berthelot, and Dylan LeBlanc.
