On Sept. 2, 1906, she was married to William B. Tade. They farmed in the Harrisburg community untill 1950 when they moved to Hillsboro. Mr. Tade passed away in 1962. She was also preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a son, Donald, who died in World War II.
Remaining to cherish her memory are two sons, William A. of Bonaparte and Robert of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Hixon of Hillsboro and Mrs. Martha Paschall of West Des Moines; daughters in law, Goldie and Francis Tade and sons in law, Phil Hixon and LaVern Paschall; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church and for many years served as church pianist. She was also a member of Chapter AE, PEO at Bonaparte and throughout her life was active in various community betterment organizations As a very young lady she tought school and had always maintained a keen interest in poetry, literature and current events.
Her since of humer, her devotion to the calling of wife, mother, and grandmother and her philosophy of life will be remembered by all who knew her and these memorys will live on as a fitting memoril to a person who did her part toward making her home, her comunity and the world a better place to live.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 5, 1971 at 1:30 pm at the Harrisburg Baptist Church with Rev. Levi Winfrey and Rev. Lester Smith officiating. Mrs. Vinton Hoaglin was the organist. Pall bearers were John Dodds, Stanly L. Miller, Dr. J.O. Ewing, J.M. Dodds, David Phelps, Loren Ewing. Internment was in Vale Cemetery. Arrangments were by Pedrick Funeral Home.
