Courier Gazette, McKinney, TX, Tuesday, 24 NOV 1936 Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Duncan, 91, who died at her home in Frisco were held at the Methodist Church there, Tuesday. Mrs. Duncan was born in KY and came to Texas at the age of 14, riding horseback all the way. She crossed the Ohio River when it was knee deep to her horse. Her father, the late Harrison Eller was a pioneer Methodist preacher. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Abe Powell of West Point, KY; Mrs. Lena Crowder and Mrs. Maggie Bristow of Frisco and three sons, Dr. D. S. Duncan of Albuquerque, NM and Lawrence and Sidney Donmey Duncan, of Frisco. A copy of her death certificate, #53467, is on file. The cause of death was pneumonia. The informant was Sidney Duncan of Frisco, Texas. He states her father as G W Eller and mother Mary Frances Eller.

Her first husband was John Bransford Rogers m. 18 AUG 1861 and second husband was Isaac Alexander Thomas Duncan m. 04 DEC 1876.
