Eliza Cileste, wife of Elias S. Dennis, departed this life last Friday morning after a protracted illness of dropsy of the heart. Mrs. Dennis was the daughter of S. H. Robbins, a well-known stock dealer of Missouri, also was engaged in the commission business in St. Louis, where Mrs. Dennis was born at the head of Washington Avenue, September 9th, 1847. She came to Carlyle in 1864, and was married November 21st, 1866. She was a member of the Baptist church....the sympathy of our people go out to the bereaved husband whose home has been darkened and whose three children rendered motherless with one fell stroke.....
