She was born October 22, 1920 in Columbia City, Indiana a daughter of Carl H. and Fannie Jane (Herron) Salesman. Her formative years were spent in Columbia City.
On January 25, 1946 she was united in marriage to George William Hively. They made their home in Columbia City and later Noble County before moving to their home on Shriner Lake in 1953. Mr. Hively died January 17, 2000.
Surviving relatives include two children, Richard (Nora) Hively and Susan (Stan) Schmitt, all of Shriner Lake; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. There will be no public visitation. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Matthews Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
