LATHAM Marietta M. Bessette, 88, of Our Lady of Hope Residence, Latham, died Wednesday, December 21, 2005 after a long illness. She was born in Canada and moved to Waterford at the age of six and was educated in Cohoes, St. Joseph's School and Cohoes High School. She was the daughter of the late Odilas and Alice Comtois Amyot. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Cohoes and a member of the choir. She was a homemaker. She was the wife of the late Leo P. Bessette, to whom she was married for 62 years. She is survived by her children, Peter C. Bessette and his wife Barbara of Clifton Park, Thomas M. Bessette and his wife Kim of Delmar, Judith A. Stidnick and her husband Ron of Clifton Park, Susan B. Sullivan and her husband Roger of Waterford and mother of the late Robert W. Bessette. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, John Mossey of Waterford; sister of the late Mary B. Mossey, Lucille Hinchcliff, John Amyot and Paul Amyot; grandmother of Ron Stidnick Jr., Elizabeth Hurtado, Nicole Kuftiak, Christopher Bessette and Jenna Bessette; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Friday 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Residence, Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at Our Lady of Hope Residence TODAY from 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions may be made in Marietta's memory to Our Lady of Hope Residence.
