Emma A. Rohde, 87 of Newtown passed away November 22nd at her home following a long illness. She was born in Washington, PA on August 2, 1927 a daughter of the late James and Katherine (Albert) Kaskan, and grew up in Brownsville, PA.

Emma met her late husband Vernon Carl Rohde while working as a Nurse in the Emergency Dept. of George Washington Hospital, Washington, DC. In 1972 Mrs. Rohde moved to Newtown with her family and was a Nurse at Fairfield Hills Hospital until her retirement. Emma was an active parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Church and was a Special Minister of the Eucharist for many years.

he is survived by a son Vernon Carl Rohde, II of Newtown and four grandchildren, Vernon Carl Rohde, III, Sara E. Rohde, Lilli I. Rohde and Benjamin K. March.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church Saturday Nov. 29th at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday Nov. 28th from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the Honan Funeral Home 58 Main St. Newtown.
