Betty Carrie Alexander was born to the parentage of Willie Ruth Sugars Alexander of Santa Monica, California and the late Algustus Dean Alexander of Louisiana on April 30, 1955.

Betty received her formal education in the Los Angeles Unified School District and attended Gompers Junior High School and Alain Leroy Locke High School. She was a resident of Los Angeles County and was employed by the school district and the United States Postal Service.

Through a loving relationship with the late Gary Gibson, she became the proud mother of Andrea La Vonne Gibson in January of 1972.

Betty's Life was cut short at the murderous hands of people she knew on July 27, 1976 in the city of Pacoima, California. Her murderers were captured and sent to prison following a grueling trial.

Betty's memory lives on the lives of those who love her: her mother Ruth, her sister, SGT Debra A. Alexander, her brother, Leslie Dodson, her daughter Andrea and many family members and friends. Betty would be proud of the new additions to her family...four beautiful grandchildren...Ayanna, Kevin, Gary & David.

We will forever love you moma.

Your baby girl,

Andrea
