Geraldine Ann (Rieth) Fitch, of Clinton
Geraldine A. (Rieth) Fitch, 71, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014, in the Life Care Center of Leominster, after an illness.
She leaves her loving husband of 47 years, Stephen Bruce Fitch; four children: Stephen B. Fitch and his wife, Jennifer, of Canton, OH, Mary Katherine Pratt and her husband, Mark, of Waltham, Gregory J. Fitch of Great Barrington, and Gene Rebecca Peterson and her husband, David, of Leominster; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her five siblings: Jerome, Joseph, John and Robert Rieth, and Caroline Dowd.
Geraldine was born and raised in Clinton, daughter of Everett G. and Mary E. (Hastings) Rieth. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1960. A resident of Sterling for the past 20 years, she had resided in Lancaster for nearly 20 years prior, but remained proud to call Clinton “home”.
For more than 20 years until her retirement, Geraldine worked in Customer Service at Ecological Fibers, Lunenburg.
A member of St. Richard of Chichester Church, Sterling, her greatest joy in life was being a loving wife and mother.
ARRANGEMENTS:
Geraldine’s Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St. Please go directly to the church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, on Monday, December 1, 2014, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.
Private burial will take place in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster, at the convenience of the family.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
