On April 2nd 2006, Stacy and Jerry Ables, and Tyler Keierleber were all lost due to a tornado that touched down by their home in Newbern, Tennessee. Stacy and Jerry were a happy couple that were together for 11 years and married for seven. Tyler was 13 years old and was a student at Northview Middle School in Newbern, Tennessee. Jerry was an employee of Jimmy Dean Company in Newbern, Tennessee. Stacy was an employee of Corner Market in Four Point, Tennessee. She used to work at Open Door in Sandwich, Illinois.
Stacy was born on September 30, 1965 in Aurora, Illinois. "her caring nature was what really stood out, "Stacy's brother Scott Forbes said. "She always made great friends with her neighbors and fit in anywhere." She was survived by her daughter, Dierdra L. Keierleber of Newbern, her mother, Annette Forbes of Newbern; her four sisters, Dodie, Julie, Stormmie, and Tallie; and her four brothers, Raymond, Michael, Mark, and Scott. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Jerry Ables; her most loveable son, Tyler; her father, James T. Forbes; her brother, Gus Forbes; and most recently her Uncle Gerald (Jerry) Lawrence.
Tyler was born on May 26, 1992 in Aurora, Illinois. "Tyler was always joking and never in a bad mood", classmate Will Armour said at Thursday's visitation. "He always loved to draw penquins, so the name (The Penquin) just stuck for him." Tyler enjoyed playing video games with his cousins and spending time with his grandmother, Annette. He was survived by his 16 year old sister, Dierdra Keierleber of Newbern, his father, Damian Keierleber of North Aurora; his paternal grandfather, William Keierleber of Aurora, Illinois; his maternal grandmother, Annette Forbes of Newbern, Tennessee; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Stacy and step-father, Jerry (whom died the same day).
Jerry was born on September 18, 1968 in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Jerry was known for his love for fishing and his love for his family. He was survived by his step-daughter, Dierdra of Newbern; two sisters, Teresa and Pam, both of Dyersburg; and three brothers, Allen, Bobby, both of Dyersburg and Eddie of Phoenix. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Stacy and his step-son, Tyler; his parents, Laquetta Sollis Ables and Eddie Lamar Ables.
Services for Stacy Ables, Jerry Ables, and Tyler Keierleber were held at the Chapel-Johnson Funeral home on April 6, 2006 in Newbern, Tennessee. Jerry Ables was buried on Friday, April 7, 2006 at the Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
