Mrs. Hiatt was born in Surry County on November 24, 1934 to Jesse Robert and Cassie Mae McHone Boyd.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Mrs. Hiatt ministered and taught at the Surry County jail every Tuesday for nearly 25 years.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Hammond, Tammy and David Jenkins and Wendy and Bill Johnson; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and sisters, Patricia Gray of Garner and Gaynell Moser of Dobson.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hiatt was preceded in death by her husband, William Clyde Hiatt and her son, Ricky William Hiatt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Temple Baptist Church by Rev. Zane Fishel. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
