Reid Burks Dies at Raytown Home-

Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the Pettijohn & Crawford Funeral Chapel for Reid Burks, Rev. Charles R. Hagee officiated.

Reid Burks was born at Fairfax, Mo., Dec. 31, 1884. He graduated from the Mound City high school. he was married to Miss Edna Mumm, Mound City in 1911. She passed away June 3, 1934.

Mr. Burks was a salesman for International Harvester Co. for 25 years. He was a salesman for Simmons and Co., for 21 years and was retired in 1954. he had worked mostly out of Des Moines and Osceola, Iowa.

Mr. Burks, who lived at 9358 East 69th, Raytown, Mo., died of a heart attack at the home, May 29th.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Palmer of the home; a brother, Harry O. Burks, Orange, N.J.; and two grandchildren.

Interment was made in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Those who served as pallbearers were: Robert Crouse, T.J. Cardinell, John R. Wilson, Carson McCormack, Si Allen and D.B. Burnett.
