Warren Curtis Alderson, age 85, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 after a brief illness at his home surrounded by his family and special Hospice Care.
He was born August 31, 1923 in Sinton, Texas.
Mr Alderson was a retired oilfield worker with Sun Oil Company after 32 years of service, an avid hunter and fisherman, contributor to Arkansas Sheriff's Youth Ranch and a member of the Lewisville First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Gertrude Warren Alderson, three brothers, and four sisters.
He is survived by: a son & daughter-in-law, Warren & Shirley Alderson of Corpus Christi, TX; three daughters & sons-in-law, Elsie & Wayne Halbert of Taylor, AR, Polly & Daniel Darilek of Port La Vaca, TX and Hilda & Charles Curry of Benton, LA; nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Lane Garner officiating and burial in Wilson Cemetery at Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
