Born 19 February 1922 in the town of Franklin to the late Joseph+Anna (Hlavachek) Kostechka, a graduate of Reedsville HS with the class of 1940, on 3 September 1941 she married Walter Brandl at St Mary's Catholic Church Reedsville. He preceded her in death 11 February 2006.
They farmed in the town of Cato until moving to Manitowoc in 1981. Evelyn volunteered at the Manitowoc Public Library for 32 years where she received an award from the Mayor for being the longest volunteer at the library. She also volunteered at St Vincent de Paul for 27 years. Evelyn enjoyed fishing and dancing with her husband. They were members of the Happy Hoppers. Evelyn spent many hours reading her books. She was a member of St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Manitowoc.

Funeral services Noon Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St Francis of Assisi on Waldo. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial is Rev Richard Klingeisen. Burial at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery Clarks Mills.
