Kenneth E. Wenz, 79

Kenneth E. “Ken” Wenz, 79, Panama City Beach, Fla., formerly of Monticello, died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at Bay Medical Center, Panama City, Fla. He was born at Speedway City on April 25, 1926, to Kenneth H. and Mildred V. (Halfman) Wenz. He married Martha Joy Anderson at the Presbyterian Church in Monticello on Jan. 17, 1947. She survives.

He was a 1944 graduate of Monticello High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II.

While living in the Monticello area, he owned and operated the B & B Grill, and prior to that, he managed the Campus Kitchen in West Lafayette. He was a former member of the Libanus Masonic Lodge No. 154 F. & A.M., Monticello, and was a 32nd degree mason. He also served as a Boy Scout Leader, Monticello. He was a retired sales manager for the Dubois Chemical Company, retiring after 29 years.

He had been a resident of Bay County, Fla., for the last 17 ½ years, moving from Atlanta, Ga. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lynn Haven Fla. And a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello.

Other survivors include son, Dennis (Cathy) Wenz Sr., Atlanta Ga.; daughter, Jennifer J. Boshart, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; grandsons, Dennis E. Wenz Jr., Atlanta, Ga., and Nicholas S. Wenz, Jupiter, Fla., cousin, James (Connie) Wenz, and cousin Jean (Don) Oden. Sons, Kenneth E. Wenz Jr., and Bennett E. Wenz are deceased.
