He was born on March 6, 1928, in Terre Haute, to Con and Della (Lark) Hayne.
He married Margaret Remington on June 5, 1948.
Harold graduated from Otter Creek High School.
He proudly served in the United States Navy.
Harold retired from Columbia House Records after 37 years of service. Harold attended West Terre Haute Assembly of God. He loved to golf and hunt with his son, Ronald.
Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Hayne of Terre Haute; children, Ronald Hayne, Janet Auterson, and Mark Hayne, all of Terre Haute; special friend and caretaker, Kim Murphy of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Nikki Burch and husband Jay of Washington, Clint Auterson of Washington, D.C., Deana Auterson of West Terre Haute, Amber Dawn Davis of Buffalo, N.Y., Bailey Hayne of Terre Haute, and Joseph "Bart" Hayne and wife Kelsey of Terre Haute; great-grandchildren, Claire, Caroline, and Will Burch; Isaac and Emma Auterson, Lucy Marie Hayne and Anderson Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard, George, Ralph, and Jim Hayne; and a sister, Mary Rukes.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Smith officiating. Private burial will take place on a later date in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Terre Haute Assembly of God or the Alzheimers Association.
