"Winifred A. Smith, 82, beloved wife of Harold E. Smith, of Willimantic, formerly of Coventry, died Wednesday (August 22, 2001) in Windham Hospital. She was born Jan. 13, 1919 in Mansfield daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Ellen (Costello) Dawson.
"She had been employed by Wright's Tractor Co. retiring 20 years ago. Mrs. Smith was a past member of the Coventry Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary.
"Besides her husband, her survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William and Barbara Smith of Andover; a sister, Ethel Reil of Willimantic; two granddaughters, Lorie Lalla and Joelle Carbonell; and two great grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and a cousin. She was predeceased by a son, David Smith; and two sisters, Edith Menchen and Mildred Todd."
