Melvin E. Alspaugh, 82 passed away November 27, 2014. He was born June 28, 1932 to Melvin and Mildred (Bayes) Alspaugh in Lansing, Michigan. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and retired from Oldsmobile after working thirty nine years as a lift truck operator and was a member of UAW Local 652.
Melvin was preceded in death by his mother and father, Melvin and Mildred (Bayes) Alspaugh, and sisters, Diane Katch and Linda Baur. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-six years, Marilyn Alspaugh; son, Micheal (Vicky) Alspaugh; daughter, Michelle (Terry Bailey) Alspaugh; granddaughters, Hannah and Sarah Alspaugh and beloved Basset Hound Clayton; brothers, Carl (Barb) Alspaugh, Jack (Judy) Alspaugh; sisters, Joyce Raberg, Lora Alspaugh.
Per Melvin's wishes, no services or visitation will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to the Capital Area Human Society, 7095 West Grand River Avenue, Lansing Michigan 48906 or the Michigan Basset Rescue Inc. 3588 Lotus Drive, Waterford Township, MI. 48320
