Obituary for Victor S Ashmore Jr.
Victor S. Ashmore, Jr., 93, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born January 29, 1921 in Starkville to the late Victor S. Ashmore, Sr. and the late Julia Bean Ashmore.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
He was a retired offset printer for Futorian and a farmer. More recently he served as distribution manager for Auto Exchange magazine. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alice Miller Ashmore; two sons, Larry Ashmore (Linda) and David Ashmore (Cindy), all of New Albany; one sister, Mary Frances Scobey (Gene) of Cordova, TN; four grandchildren, Dr. Karen Maltby (Dan), John Ashmore (Brandi), Greg Ashmore (Elizabeth) and Angela Little (Adam) and two great granddaughters, Evelyn Maltby and Madelyn Ashmore.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the charity of donor's choice.
In honor of Mr. Ashmore's service to his country, United Funeral Service will fly the U.S. Navy flag during his visitation and funeral service.
