SUMMERFIELD -- Andrew E. Archer, 82, of Canton, a former resident of the Summerfield area, died at 5 a.m. Friday (July 31) at the Jane Francis Nursing Home at Alliance.
Mr. Archer was born April 15, 1888, in Noble County, a son of Charles and Matilda Wilt Archer. He was a retired employe (sic) of the Automatic Steel Products Company at Canton.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Wilma Everly of Navarre, Mrs. Clyde (Alverna) Schwallie of Canton, Mrs. Harold (Mary) Spences of Louisville and Mrs. James (Louella) Hanlon of Canton; two sons, Herman Archer of Summerfield Route 1 and Wilfred of Louisville; tow brothers, Earl and Clemence Archer, both of Summerfield Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Ida Dimmerling of Caldwell Route 1; 27 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. His wife, the former Philomena Warner died in 1940 and a brother Cain, died recently.
Requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Fulda with Rev. Fr. Walter Hines officiating. burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body was taken to Brubach funeral Home here where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
