Mrs. Hattie Byrd, 80, of 903 Sixth street died at Weld County Public hospital Tuesday. She had been a resident of Greeley eight years, prior to that living in the Gill community for more than 20 years. Mrs. Byrd was born in Nebraska.
She is survived by two brothers, Jeff Wathen of Hill City, Kan., and Thomas Wathen of Lincoln, Nebr.; two step-sons, Everett A. Byrd of Denver and Clifford Byrd of McCook, Nebr.; and two step-daughters, Mrs. Opal Farber of McCook and Mrs. Wilma Norris of Van Nuys, Calif.
Also surviving are three nephews, a niece and several grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Evans cemetery. Her body will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lilly's Funeral Home. Greeley Daily Tribune, 21 June 1950
