She was born April 1, 1921 to Fred and Helen (nee O'Kelly) Hiser in Pickford.
Mrs. Hart grew up in St. Ignace. She was graduated from LaSalle High School in 1939.
She married Richard Hart on December 22, 1940. Mr. & Mrs. Hart lived in the Cedarville area until 1952, when they moved their family to Loomis. Mrs. Hart returned to St. Ignace in 1981.
She attended the Straits Evangelical Free Church in St. Ignace.
Mrs. Hart enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, and cooking.
She is survived by eight children and their families, Vernon Hart and Sandra Blum, Jean and Russell Cruickshank, Janet Slocum, Leon Hart and Marsha Coveyou, June and Bill Figgins, Joe and Brenda Hart, Lester and Ila Hart, and Oliver and Marjee Hart; a son-in-law and his family, Verle West; 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters and their families, Laura Winberg, Iris Winberg, and Helen Thayer; numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends, including Jack and Darcy McLean, who helped care for her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara West; a grandson, Jason Figgins; a great-grandson, Justin Hart; a son-in-law, Ken Slocum; two brothers, Anson Hiser and Fred Hiser, and two sisters, Eva Smith and Irene Thompson.
Services will be in the spring, followed by burial in Cedar Cemetery in Cedarville.
