Canfield—Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at John Knox Presbyterian Church, Youngstown for Albert Mark Edmonds, 72, of 3885 Shields Road, who died Sunday at home of complications from A-V Malformation after being comatose for the past 13 years.

Mr. Edmonds was born April 20, 1928, in Leechburg, Pa., a son of Albert E. and Isabell Dormady Edmonds and moved to Canfield from Woodworth in 1943. {This is incorrect information. Albert and his family moved from Clarion, PA to Youngstown, OH in 1943. He moved to Canfield in 1959 with his wife and 4 children]

He worked for U.S. Steel Corp, retiring in 1981 and was a bus driver for the Leonard Kirtz School. He was also owner and operator of Paradise Pools in Canfield. He was a graduate of South High School.

He was a member of the church and was a founder, director and past president of Eastern Regional Kidney Foundation. He was a member of several area bowling leagues.

Besides his mother of Woodworth, he leaves his wife, the former Anne Draghita, whom he married June 20, 1951; two daughters, Sheila A. Saad of Poland and Shannon O. Richards of Canfield; a son, Zachary of Canfield; three sisters, Wilma Peterson of Carmel, Ind., Margaret McConnell of Harrisurg, Pa., and Joyce Rochford of Waterford, Mich.; and four grandsons.

A daughter, Melody Gay Edmonds, is deceased.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Anstrom-Velker Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the service Thursday in the church.

Gravesite Details

Albert was called Al or Abe. He died on Mothers' Day 2000. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and adored his grandsons. In addition to bowling, Al loved to fish and sing.
