Orlando Aanes, 77, dies
Orlando L. "Orie" Aanes, 77, who worked over 50 years in construction and contracted lathing, died Monday in a Butte hospital.
Mr. Aanes, formerly of the Columbus Plaza, was born March 23, 1902, in Wigdahl, Minn., and attended Minnesota schools. He married Arlyne Murray in Chicago Feb. 25, 1930. They lived in Billings 30 years before coming to Butte. Mrs. Aanes died in August 1979.
Mr. Aanes was a member of the Butte Knights of Columbus Third Degree, John F. Kennedy Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and St. John Evangelist Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Aanes of Butte, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Aanes of Great Falls and Catherine Aanes of Great Falls; brother, Russell of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Ruth Christenson and Mildren Aanes of Minnesota; and eight grandchildren.
Services are pending at Duggan Merrill Dolan Mortuary, 213 N. Montana. Friends may call Wednesday after 3.
