Grace, the second child of 12, was born in Onondaga Township and grew up in the vicinity of Eaton County, Michigan. She moved to Detroit in about 1910, where she ran several businesses including a boardinghouse and a delicatessen.

She was the mother of Wayne Miller Parker (1909-1992).

Grace's husbands were as follows: 1- Willis Allan Parker, 2- John Sontag, 3- Joseph Paul Taylor, 4- James Alexander Sawyer 5- Albert Max Hauber.

Grace's father and maternal grandfather were both Union Civil War Veterans. Grace, her mother, and her sister(s) were all active in the Order of the Eastern Star. She also had a dog named Bismark.
