One of the simplest, but most humourous, garvestones in Fernhill is that of Stuart Douglas Trueman, a humorist, journalist, and amateur historian. It was featured on one of David Goss' Fernhill Cemetery Ghost Walks. A man is hanging upside down. He's yelling: LEMME; OUT; OF HERE!; STUART DOUGLAS TRUMAN. A cartoon is appropriate since "at age 17 Trueman began his newspaper career as a cartoonist with The Telegraph-Journal and The Evening Times-Globe....In 1951 he was elevated to editor-in-chief, a position which he held until 1971...." I am most familiar with him as the author of An Intimate Histoy of New Brunswick in which he told the story of Sewell House, the alleged former home of Jonathan Sewell. Stuart Douglas Trueman's gravestone is near that of Sir Leonard Tilley.
