Dr. Johnny Charles Marshall age 84 of Athens, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his residence. Dr. Marshall was born September 16, 1930 in Madison County, AL to George Thomas Marshall and Octavia Womack Marshall. Graveside services will be Sunday, December 7, 2014 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Phillip Womack and Tommy Rosenblum officiating. There will be no visitation. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home assisting the family. Dr. Marshall was a member and minister of the Mt. Hope Church of Christ. Longtime preacher for 69 years starting at the age of 15 at East Huntsville Church, he also preached for the Opelika Church of Christ, Talladega Church of Christ, Hobbs Street Church of Christ, Central Church of Christ and Randolph Church of Christ. He taught school at Athens High School and several colleges in Alabama. Survived by his wife, Elaine Marshall of Athens; one daughter, Becky Marshall of Huntsville, AL; one son, John Marshall and wife, Susan’ two grandchildren, Anna Morris of Huntsville and Andrew Morris and wife, Maggie of Birmingham, AL; one great-grandson, Jackson Morris of Birmingham, AL; several nieces and nephews. No flowers please make memorials to Mt. Hope Church of Christ Mt. Hope, AL or Alacare Hospice.
