Lillian L. Jehle, age 84, a resident of 2408 Clark St., Manitowoc, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Rev. William Plank will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Lillian was born Aug. 8, 1916 in the town of Kossuth, Wisconsin. Her parents were the late Louis and Blanche Chloupek Cootway. She graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School, Cicero, Illinois, in 1934; from Morton Junior college, Cicero, Illinois, in 1936; and from the Manitowoc County Teacher's College in 1937. On July 14, 1942, Lillian married Fred W. Jehle in Manitowoc. Mr. Jehle preceded her in death, October 31, 1991. She taught in Manitowoc County schools for 11 years, mainly at Saxonburg and Francis Creek. After teaching, she worked in the business office at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for 27 years. Lillian retired from Holy Family in 1982. She was a member, and past president, of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #706. She was elected to the Eagles state auxiliary Hall of Fame in 1993, and selected as the Eagles state auxiliary grandmother in 1995. Lillian was also a member of the Manitowoc Senior Center, and spent many hours volunteering at the center's gift shop.

Survivors include her son Fred (Sharon) Jehle of Manitowoc; two grandson: Michael Jehle of Neenah; Patrick and special friend Julie Vandenboom, both of Richmond, Va.; three step-grandchildren: David Klein of Manitowoc, Donald (Heather) Klein of Chicago and Nathan Klein of Richmond, Va.; also other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Cancer Care Center at Holy Family.
