William W. Johnson, age 85, of 1117 Dewey St., Manitowoc, died Monday evening, September 18, 2000, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2000, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Camillus Janas, O.F.M. with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

He was born November 6, 1914, in Brown County, son of the late Arthur and Lena Schmitt Johnson. Bill was a graduate of Denmark High School with the class of 1933. On October 28, 1939, he married the former Mary Wuellner at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Bill was employed with C.W. Transport Company of Sheboygan for 34 years, retiring in 1980. He was past president of the Lakeshore Peddlers Bike Club of Manitowoc and was an active member of the St. Andrew Dartball team.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Johnson, Manitowoc; four sons and daughters-in-law, William A. and Judith Johnson, Two Rivers, David P. and Mary Beth Johnson, Manitowoc, Mark T. and JoAnne Johnson, Las Vegas, Nev., Randy S. and Linda Lou Johnson, Plymouth; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Ralph Mrozinski, Manitowoc, Judith and Donald Halinski, Oak Forest, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Keith, Donna, Sonja, Tessa, Marcia, Rachael, Lena, and Peter; nine great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Theo Johnson, Green Bay; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Gus Lukas, Manitowoc, Joan Buth, Manitowoc, Lloyd Benecke, Denmark. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Benecke; and one brother-in-law, Ralph Buth.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday (TONIGHT) where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. led by Sr. Renee Delvaux.
