Son of George and Abigail Hixon Peach he served as a private in Co B. 53rd Alabama Cavalry, Confederate States Army. He was a Democrat; Methodist and a Mason. He was married first to Miss Susan R. Edwards. Of this union issued three sons and two daughters.
February 15, 1876 He married Miss Nannie S. Wheless. Of this union there were born one son and four daughters. All his four sons received diplomas at the State University at Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Each of his six daughters graduated from the Alabama Female College, Tuskegee, Alabama. Eloise Peach West was one of his daughters.
