LARIMORE - Requiem Mass was celebrated for Edward F. Moore, age 80, on Friday, May 7, 1976, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with Rt. Reverend Msgr. William McNamee as Celebrant of the Mass. Mrs. William Martin was organist and the church choir sang.

Mr. Moore passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 4, 1976. He was born October 27, 1895, in Cooperstown, ND, the son of Thomas Moore and Margaret McKeon. He attended school in Binford. He then worked as manager of grain elevators in North Dakota and Montana. He entered the US Army and served during World War I. He married Marie Antoinette Gagnon at Grafton on January 1, 1920. After their marriage, they moved to Wilsall, MT. where he worked for two years. They came back to North Dakota and went into the insurance and farm machinery business. His wife, Marie, preceded him in death in March 1, 1927. On January 3, 1929,he married Melissa Baker in Crookston, MN. They operated restaurant businesses in Lakota, Red Willow and York. In 1937 they moved back to Larimore where they operated a restaurant, liquor store and then purchased several liquor establishments and bowling alleys in eastern North Dakota.He was also a farm investor.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa, of Larimore; 2 sons, Edward F. Moore, Jr., Houston. TX and John Milton Moore, Burnsville, MN; his daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Margaret) Brelie, Larimore;his sister, Mrs. Rella Cowan, Valley City; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. One son, George Moore, preceded him in death in 1955.

Casketbearers were Joe Hunt, Jr., Kenneth Anderson, William Shide, Robert Larimore, John Pifer and Jim Larimore III. Honorary casketbearers were Joe Hunt, Sr., Al Boulden, Art Johnson, Pete Peterson, Dr. C. O. Haugen, Harry Pifer, Jack Campbell, Jameson Larimore, Jr., Lester Brandon and Ralph Oliver.

Committal was in Bellevue Cemetery. (Brown Funeral Home, Larimore)

Edward Francis Moore was married to Marie Antoinette Gagnon and three children were born of this union - Edward F, Jr, Margaret (Peggy) and George. His second marriage (to Melissa Baker Larson)produced one son - John (Jack).

At the time of his death in 1976 he was survived by Ed Jr, Peggy and Jack, grandchildren Mary, Patti, Tom, Mike & Melissa Moore, John, Sheri & Geri Brelie, Jeanne, Julie, Steve and Maureen Moore.

The only great-grandchild born before his death was Fredrich (Fred) Zapalac. Those born later are David Zapalac, Elizabeth, Michael and Rachael Pena, Thomas and John Bagby, Matt and Daniel Burkhalter and MacKenzie Rapacki.

Great great grandchildren to date are Liliana and Christina Pena, Daniel Holden Zapalac and Colin Burkhalter.
