LENA FRANCES CASTLE/CASSELL JENNINGS
was born April 30, 1847 in Montgomery/Floyd Co., Virginia
Census records show her birth name as SELENA FRANCES CASTLE and that she was sister to 10 siblings.

Daughter of EDWARD R. & MALINDA (MARTIN) CASTLE.

She married LEWIS TAYLOR JENNINGS in 1870 in Floyd Co., VA. Together they had six children,
William Cook Jennings
Benjamin Green Jennings
Edward Morris Jennings
Norman Clyde Jennings
Oscar "Bud" Jennings
and
Roscoe Brown Jennings.

Lena "Linnie" died in 1904 and is buried in the very small "Jennings Cemetery" on Brown Rd. East of Draper,Pulaski Co.,VA. near the old family home on New River. This home is now beautifully restored and known as the "Homestead Inn" on Claytor Lake.

There is only one stone and a footstone remaining in the cemetery and that's for "Linnie". She is buried along side husband Lewis. Their son Benjamin who died at a young age is also buried here.

It is not known if there are others buried here. This area was part of a large piece of property owned by the Jennings family. The cemetery is now maintained by local Jennings family.
