Alice Frances Atkins went to be with Jesus our Lord, April 17, 2006. She was born May 19, 1922, in Mount Airy, NC to Thomas and Anne Atkins, who preceded her in death. She is preceded in death by Gray, Henry, and Claude Atkins, Nettie Perry and Pearl Ethier. She was the youngest of 8 children. In August of 1943, she enlisted in the SPARS and served her country during World War II. While serving in Washington DC she met and married Dean Cuthbertson who survives her. They were married for 60+ years. Of that union, there were three children, who survive her; Mary Dean Cuthbertson, Dale and Sharon Cuthbertson, and Barry and Donna Cuthbertson. She has 5 Grandchildren and other family and friends who survive her. Fran was a loving and faithful wife and a homemaker who enjoyed her children. Fran with her husband enjoyed fishing and traveling all over God's green earth. In lieu of flowers you may send gifts to Metropolitan Baptist Church or Good Shepherd Hospice. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Metropolitan Baptist Church with interment to follow in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Published in The Oklahoman on 4/18/2006.
