DANIEL McCLAIN KEMP, 618 Sunset Avenue, died at the Washington County Hospital last evening of complications, after an illness of three months, aged 66 years. He was born and reared at Harper's Ferry, WV, son of L.M. and Erma (Coates) Kemp. He had lived in this city for the last 35 years.
He had been employed by the Western Maryland Railway Company for 35 years and by his mechanical ability rose to the official position of general machine shop foreman, which position he held with utmost skill and efficiency up to the time of his recent illness. Mr. Kemp's acquaintance penetrated far into the railroad industry and he enjoyed a wide circle of friends who will mourn his passing. He was a member of Masonic lodges of this city including Blue Lodge, ithiel Chapter, R.A.M., Palestine Council and Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
Besides his wife, Laura Kemp, he is survived by one daughter, Frances E. and one son, Edwin M., both of this city; one sister, Mrs. George Fritts, Baltimore; brothers, George L. and Bernard D. Kemp, of Baltimore.
Services were held at the A.K. Coffman Funeral Home; interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
