Fifth child of Samuel Stoltz and Nancy Pargin of Maryland. He married Servilla Peebles on March 6, 1845. They had 12 children but several died as infants and are buried here in the Stoltz cemetery. His first son and namesake Henry S. Stoltz was in the Civil War and died of disease at Vicksburg, Mississippi. The children not located are:

Elizabeth
Mary Catherine
Nancy A
Martha Jane

After the death of his wife Servilla he married Rebecca Kuster on April 10, 1873. They had two children:
Arena (b.1874)
Grace E. (b.1879)
