MAUMEE: Carl W. Theaker, age 83, of Maumee, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born to William and Alice (Heffelfinger) Theaker on May 26, 1931 in Mansfield, Ohio. Carl worked for USFG as an insurance adjustor and after retirement, he spent 13 years as a crossing guard for Maumee Schools. He was a long time coach for Maumee youth baseball and an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Maumee. Carl proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He was 29 year member of the Maumee Elks and was honored as Elk of the year in 1992. Carl is survived by his sons, Carl Jr. (Jackie), Dave (Barbara) and Ted (Tammy); daughter, Kim (Randy) Lyons; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Douglas (Mary Jean); and sister, Ellen Bopp. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lydia; daughter, Rebecca Stanley; his parents; and brother-in-law, Gene Bopp. Funeral Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Broadway Street, Maumee, Ohio on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
