- Charles Willis Adams, 64, coal miner of Virden, died at St. John's hospital at 12:30 a.m. today (Friday). He has been a patient at the hospital since Wednesday.
- Mr. Adams was born in Lincoln Center, Kan., and had lived in the Virden community for the last 23 years.
- The body was removed to the Vancil funeral home.

Survived by wife, Cora; three sons, Raymond, maritime commission; Harold, Virden; Albert, U.S. army; five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Harney, Cressey, Mich.; Mrs. Opal Bauswell, Lowder; Mrs. Thelma Stewart and Mrs. Elizabeth Bridge, Thayer; and Miss Lillian Adams, Virden; five brothers, Ernest, Miami, Fla.; Ray, West Cliff, Colo.; Clarence, El Monte, Calif.; Dale, Cherokee, Kan., and Roy, Scammon, Kan.; sister, Mrs. Amy Sharp, Henryetta, Okla.; and 14 grandchildren. Remains to Vancil funeral home (north side). Funeral announcement later.

- Virden, Jan. 25. - Funerla services for Charles Willis Adams were held Monday at the Methodist church, Rev. George Hoyle officiating. Burial was in Virden cemetery with the Moose lodge in charge of graveside services.
- Surviving are his wife Cora; three sons, Raymond, with the maritime commission; Albert, in the army, and Harold, at home; five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Harney, Cressey, Mich.; Opal Bauswell, Auburn; Thelma Stewart and Elizabeth Bridges, Theyer, and Lillian, at home; five brothers, Earnest, Miami, Fla.; Ray, West Cliff, Colo.; Clarence, El Monte, Calif.; Ray and Dale, Scammon, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Amy Sharp, Henrietta, Okla.; and 14 grandchildren.
