He was born in Gassaway on August 25, 1942 a son of the late Lee Mark Bailey and Lucille Virginia Metz Bailey.
He was married twice. First on September 25, 1061 he married the former Karen Whelan and they were married 21 years before her passing on June 13, 1983. Then he married the former Jennifer Lynn Alfred, who survives, and they celebrated 30 years of marriage.
He is also survived by five children: Robert L. Bailey and wife Sheila of Jane Lew, Sharon Roush and husband Donnie of Weston, Debbie Spray of Crawford, Holly Harris and husband Mike of Weston and Amber Heater and husband Chris of Jane Lew: two brothers Samuel M. Bailey and wife Janice of Weston and Larry Metz ad wife Helen of Gassaway; three sisters: Judy Pumphrey and husband Burt, Peggy Knicely and husband Charlie and Jeannie Burke and husband Steve all of Weston; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; ad several nieces and nephews.
Bob was the owner and operator of Baileys Dozer Service ad he worked for the WV Dept. of Highways. He was also an honored veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. Bob's personal slice of heaven and sanctuary was his camp on the Middlefork River, where many family memories were made. He was a 'Undercover Engineer' who loved to tinker, fix, repair, restore and fiddle with various projects, big and small.
Friends and family will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 4-7 pm on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday from the Pat Boyle Funeral Homer Chapel with the Reverend Bob King officiating, Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
