Evelyn Amanda Montague was born on January 19, 1917 in Edmore, North Dakota and was working as a hairdresser when she met and married Harry H. Montague. She continued her work as a hairdresser when she moved to Omaha, Nebraska with her husband who was transferred there with the Federal Government Corps of Engineers. They retired and moved to Oregon in 1981 where they were active with Ascension
Lutheran Church. She devoted much of her time to the church by sewing and doing crafts for the Bazaar.
During her later years in Medford, she was a member of the Upper Rogue Artists in Shady Cove, where she painted in water colors.
She passed away on July 9, 2004 and is survived by her son John Montague of Portland and her daughter Helen of Medford.
A memorial service will be held 12 12 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2617 E. Barnett Rd., Medford.
