Virginia was the daughter of Ira S. Bainbridge and Emma K. Hixson. She married Paul F. McCarty.

HAMILTON - Virginia H. McCarty, 78, died Monday at home.

Born in Pennington, she lived in Trenton before moving to Hamilton in 1963, where she lived in Groveville more than a year.

She most recently retired in 1980 as a school bus driver with A-1 Limousine, West Windsor, and formerly retired in 1967 from Atlantic Products, Trenton.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Mercerville Fire Co. and Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3525, Hamilton.

Daughter of the late Ira and Emma K. Hixson Bainbridge and wife of the late Paul F. McCarty , she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul F. and Frances McCarty Sr. of Groveville; two grandchildren, Eric and Paul Jr., and two great-grandchildren. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, with the Rev. Ernest Bliss, pastor of Memorial Baptist Church of Yardville, officiating.

Burial will be in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
