Services for Belz will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dunn's Funeral home with burial at Highland Memory Gardens.
Belz a Contractor
Belz, president of Glenn Construction Co, here was born in Worth county and was graduated from Carpenter High School. He had lived in Des Moines 13 years and was a veteran of the Korean War.
His wife said Belz had been flying for 12 years and had "quite a bit of pilot time" and an instrument rating, qualifying him to fly in certain weather conditions.
"I don't know what happened unless something went wrong with the plane," Mrs. Belz said.
Besides his wife, Belz is survived by three sons, Kevin, Kendall and Kelly; a daughter, Kristi, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Belz of Annandale, Minn.; a brother, Carl of St. Ansgar and two sisters, Mrs. Clayton Olson and Mrs. Malden Olson, both of New Brighton, Minn.
