Wife (1958-1968) of physicist George Gamow. Upon her husband's death, Barbara Gamow left an endowment for the Department of Physics to underwrite The George Gamow Memorial Lecture series at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Further, upon her death, the George Gamow and Barbara Gamow Papers, 1915-1975 (bulk 1950-1975) were donated to The Library of Congress.
