Rosamond Man Dies of Gunshot
Albert E. Pauley, a 20-year old Rosamond resident, died of a gunshot in the right temple late Sunday night. .
The shooting was reported to Sheriff's deputies at the Rosamond substation about 7 p.m. by Pauley's wife, Darlene. Pauley was lying on the living room floor, and a .22 caliber pistol was found nearby. He was transported to A. V. Hospital, where he died about 11: 30 p.m.
Mrs. Pauley told the deputies that the couple had been arguing, and her husband had been loading and unloading the gun just prior to the incident.
The death has been listed as accidental pending further investigation and a coroner's verdict.

Services for Albert Pauley

Funeral services for Albert E. Pauley, 20, were held at the Murphy Mortuary Chapel in Lancaster on Wednesday, July 2.
Mr. Pauley was born on March 11, 1955, in Lancaster, and passed away on June 29, 1975, from a gunshot wound in the head. He was employed at Pauley Bros. Equipment Co., a family business in Rosamond.
Mr. Pauley was active in local rodeo affairs and in the gold-panning contest at the T'ropico Mine in Rosamond. He made his home at 1140 Rosamond Blvd.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene, whom he married in Rosamond on April 19, 1975. Other survivors include his father, Joe Pauley, Mojave; his mother, Violet Harvell, Rosamond; a brother, Joe L. Pauley, Mojave; a sister, Mrs. Betty Hobel, Iowa; a grandmother, Mrs. Gertrude Winkler, Georgia; and a great grandmother, Mrs. Violet Ellis, Arizona.
The Rev. Thomas Bailey, Wayside Chapel, Rosamond, officiated at the 3 p.m. services. Interment was in Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster. Murphy's Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
