Kenneth Wright Grant, 65 of Plantersville Texas was born May 26, 1949 in Austin Texas. He went to be with his Heavenly Father Friday, December 12, 2014. He was at Scott and White ICU in Temple Texas at the time. Visitation was held Monday, December 15, 2014 at 5:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota with internment in Pflugerville Texas at Capital Memorial Park on Tuesday, December 16 at 2:00 pm. Kenny was buried next to his parents. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Kenny is the oldest son of Thomas Alexander Grant and Madeline Dowdy Grant Swingler. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and is survived by his loving and big sister Neva Joyce and husband William Thomas Walkoviak of Plantersville, younger brother Charles Thomas Grant of Del Valle, Texas, long-time, faithful friend Gary Borski of Navasota; faithful canine companion Monkey; thoughtful, caring friends Martin, Raquel, Paul, Joshua, Mark and Sam Thomas of Roans Prairie; and many friends wherever he went, along with numerous cousins in the Plantersville and Dallas, Texas area and Farmington, New Mexico. Kenny proudly served his beloved country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam campaign. He was an active part of the Plantersville community for over 40 years and has supported numerous groups including Plantersville Stoneham Volunteer Fire Department, Plantersville Stoneham Bunch and was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stoneham and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plantersville. A special thanks to the physicians and nursing staff at Scott and White Hospital in College Station, the Scott and White Hospital in Temple and the ambulance attendants and drivers.
