Captured at Dallas GA in 1864, held as POW at Charleston SC. A petition for his release was successful. Released he returned to Newburgh and married Charlotte.
Worked in rolling mill before the war he returned to that occupation as head roller at the Alliance Rolling Mill in Alliance Ohio.
