Mr. Johnny Roscoe Marbut, age 80, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Marbut was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on June 29, 1934, son of the late Lloyd Marbut and the late Maudie Thomas Marbut.
He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, Mr. Marbut worked in the Maintenance Department at Pet Bakery for over 30 years.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by twin sons, Terry Wayne Marbut and James Michael Marbut, and by a step-daughter, Paulette Gowan.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter of Rome; a step-daughter of Rome;
three step-sons: 1 of Grovetown, 1 of Hiawassee, and 1 of Lindale;
2 grandsons; a granddaughter; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; a sister of Huntsville, AL; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
