He was born March 12, 1933 at Kenova, WV a son of the late Joseph Virl and Gertrude Valetta Spangler Corley.
On November 3, 1958, he was married to Cheryll Ann Deaner who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Laura Jo Shelton and husband Eric of Belington, three grandchildren, Joseph Michael Corley and wife Amanda, Ashleigh Nicole Watson and husband Tom and Tyler Dwayne Shelton and fiancé Leslie.
Three great grandchildren, Michael and Jenna Corley and Olivia Watson also survive.
Also preceding him in death were one son, Keith Michael Corley, three brothers, Virl Spangler Corley, Keith Burton Corley and Curtis Lynn Corley and one sister, Betty Jo Bresnick.
Mr. Corley was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp.
He served as a Trooper with the West Virginia State Police prior to his retirement and later was employed as a Federal Court Security Officer until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening and attended the Presbyterian Church.
Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, December 19th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Peter A. Vial officiating.
Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded at the gravesite by members of Leland D. Crawford Detachment 956 Marine Corp. League, H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
